I’ve traveled a lot, but nothing has ever felt quite like Jordan. Watching the sun rise over Wadi Rum from a hot air balloon, then falling asleep under those same stars later that night—I’ll never forget it. Petra by candlelight moved me to tears, and the food… my god, the food. Every day felt like it peeled back another layer of the place and its people. This wasn’t a tour—it was a soul-stirring experience.

Your Day-by-Day Journey Through Jordan

  • Touch down in Amman—one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Our team greets you at Queen Alia International Airport, and we head through the lively streets of Jordan’s capital to check in at the boutique La Locanda Hotel.

As golden light bathes the city, we stroll to the Amman Citadel—home to ancient Roman temples and panoramic city views. At dinner, we toast the journey ahead with Jordanian mezze and grilled lamb, as our World Untouched expedition leader and local guide set the stage for what’s to come.

  • Amman has survived earthquakes, empires, and centuries of reinvention. Today we uncover its layers—Roman amphitheaters, Ottoman facades, and Byzantine mosaics—all stitched together with the scent of cardamom and dust.

In the late afternoon, we wander the colorful chaos of a local market, gathering fresh ingredients for tonight’s hands-on cooking class where we’ll master dishes like musakhan and baba ghanoush.

  • Northbound to Jerash, often called “a Rome away from Rome.” This ancient Greco-Roman city lay buried for centuries and now stands remarkably intact.

Next: Umm Qais, where biblical tales meet panoramic views. On our journey south, we pause in As-Salt, a time-frozen Ottoman town you won’t find in a guidebook.

  • Trade pavement for red canyon walls in the Mujib Biosphere Reserve, where desert meets wildlife sanctuary. Spot wolves and kestrels as you wade through warm canyon streams.

Later, float effortlessly in the Dead Sea, Earth’s lowest point, and watch the sun melt into salt.

  • Madaba welcomes us with mosaics and legendary warmth. We visit Mount Nebo, gaze at the Promised Land, then head south to explore Kerak Castle, a Crusader-era titan.

At Feynan Ecolodge, we settle in for a candlelit night under the stars, far from everything except wonder.

  • With four distinct ecological zones, Dana Reserve is a haven for rare species and wild beauty. Led by local Bedouins, we explore the terrain on foot, tracking wildlife and soaking in silence.

Later: tea, stars, and stories around the fire.

  • After a relaxed morning, we head south to Aqaba, where coral reefs burst with color and desert winds meet sea breezes.

Snorkel, dive, or unwind beachside with fresh seafood and salt-kissed air.

  • We roll into Wadi Rum, a cinematic stretch of crimson sand and Martian cliffs. As night falls, we set up for long-exposure star photography and share stories over Bedouin tea.

Our luxury dome tents are more than a place to sleep—they’re your window to the cosmos.

  • Camel or 4x4—your pick for this morning’s adventure through the mystical landscape of Wadi Rum. Watch the sun rise, soft and slow, over sand that changes color by the hour.

Top it off with a hot air balloon ride, drifting high above red-rock spires and quiet desert.

  • From the sandstone charm of Little Petra, we move toward something legendary. At nightfall, we walk the Siq by candlelight, the flames flickering off canyon walls, until suddenly—there it is.

The Treasury, glowing in silence. A sacred welcome to Petra.

  • We return at dawn for a deeper dive into the Rose City. Hike to the Monastery, marvel at the High Place of Sacrifice, and follow your curiosity through tombs, facades, and silence.

This day is yours to explore the ancient capital of a lost kingdom.

  • Back in Amman, take time to shop, relax, or revisit your favorite corners of the city.

Tonight, we close the journey in style with a belly-dancing gala dinner—a wild, joyful celebration of the miles we’ve shared.

  • Time to part ways—but this isn’t goodbye. It’s just the end of one chapter. Exchange contacts, hug it out, and keep the adventure alive long after wheels up.
